HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

Yes... it's a mere 17mins to go till we hit 2011! There's a countdown party just near my place and both channel 5 and 8 are airing the countdown parties. It made me wish that I was there, outside counting down but I knew that I'm glad I did not do that for I'll regret it later. :)

As 2010 come to a close, I wish everyone had a fruitful year and may 2011 be a better year. Wishing everyone + family members good health, good wealth and may it bear more fruits for 2011!

With all the accomodation, all that's on my mind is the countdown, 2011, new year. Looking back, the bestest memory I have of 2010 will be my Japan trip with my travel partner Wendy! And also the most recent when Mr Tan took care of me when I was sick. :)
It may sound small and of no impact but I'm appreciative it all, that I'm still alive and kicking, still working with a job, my mom's still here with me (misses her sooo much that I gave her a really BIG hug! I just miss having her around when she's away for holiday) and I still have a shelter over my head. haha.

All the best people. XOXO

Wow... I missed my mom!! She's been away on a holiday for around 10days and I can't wait for her to be back which is TODAY! I missed having her around, her sitting on the sofa watching her favourite tv shows, walking around doing stuffs here and there.

Found this really funny commercial clip by Gackt. He's sooooo handsome! Found alot more and realised that he like to make comical commercials.

Last but not the least, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone! To think I'm sick and can't celebrate Christmas! Ugh.

Holding on to my breath

As the days pass by, I'm feeling more and more nervous, thinking about the possible possibilities, calming myself down when I think of it.

Today is my second day of learning something new. A step further to sai-kang but to me, it's adding more to my knowledge.

New Template Finally!

This is not the one I have in mind but the colours are soothing, background is nice, and it's available and easy to use. Why not? :)

Somehow all the alignments for my photos were out of place and I'm still figuring out why. Maybe the photo sizes are too big since the background is a fixed size?

And what do I do about the title for every blog post? How do I get it up? Hmmm.... Time for some testing work!

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Found a template that I love!! It seems like XML is the "in" thing as most templates seem to be using it. Tried to use it but it just wouldn't work with my blog, or rather, the lack of knowledge about editing it. Sigh... so I'll just have to stick to my boring blog for now...

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

I was trying to get a new blogskin for my blog.. Especially after looking at the same skin for almost 2years (?), one would sure get tired of it right? Found a really nice skin and to my dismay, I couldn't get it to work. Too much codings and got me lost. It was pretty frustrating. Just like you found the perfect top to wear for your special night be it prom, wedding, etc and to realise that no matter how you try, it just wouldn't fit. Sigh.

Anyway, I was qutie happy that office politics do not happened at my workplace. That was my initial thoughts when I started working for 3years. However, things changed and there, office politics do happen EVERYWHERE!

Someone had quitted. And something about Master Lil said makes sense.. No one will leave - especially before bonus (althought we don't have) unless the person is being treated really badly by the colleagues or the working environment is unbearable. For the "someone" (let's call her "CN") who had quitted, I guess it's both as people makes the environment, so both are equally negative. CN quitted just as she was going for her second interview, to me, it was a relief that she'd quitted and also wished her all the best (mentally of course). Why a relief?

The reason why she was so unpopular because:-
- she do not think before she speaks,
- do not apologise at all eventhough she was at fault and she knew it
- as long as she'd worked longer than others, she's considered a senior and the new hires must listen to her
- she do not give her seniors face even to her supervisor
- everyone is incompetent except for her
- thinks is fun to have a "boyfriend" when she's on the verge of divorcing her husband and decided to get back together with her husband
- badmouth everyone to a certain department
- feels that people are looking at her chest because they are all perverts and whoever touches her "yi keng harm mao" is considered molest

CN complained that she was treated very badly there as everyone outcast her, even her two closest friends had betrayed her.

The last that I'd heard was she failed the second interview.

That had gotten me pondering, whether are we all bullies? Did we create such a bad working environment for her? How is it that the rest can work in harmony?

PS: no photos yet although I took ALOT... Been lazy to post. Shall find a day to do so.. and yes.. please forgive me for the lack of postings because... I AM LAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

Many plans in mind but yet to fulfil them. No actions yet as I'm still planning. Had a great one but am putting it on hold. Yet another great idea but had to give up.

Dajie commented that my posting is very irregular - reminded me of my resolution to do AT LEAST a weekly post yet laziness kicks in.

Bought many games lately and I am too eager to try them out. Completed Lego Harry Potter, a little disappointed as I was expecting it to be as great as Lego Indiana Jones. Cute still yet irritating at some point. Still "suan" to the max because I get to break things up, fly in the air and use magic! Godfather II also constantly reminding me to complete the game before I jump to Mafia II. Fables III, tried and stopped for a while. Kinect is due for launch very soon as he (yes, I decided Kinect's gender is a male) was featured in the news last night and mom was quite excited about it.

Dajie brought her hippo back, my hippo was very excited to see his new friend.

They even made arrangements to have a sleepover last night! Bet they were excited because Dajie's hippo was very noisy (there's a bell in his stomach), all those chattering.. I still managed to sleep anyway. No wonder Cactuar ended up with this pose.

I'd finally complete Dragon Age: Origins. Now I'm considering whether should I purchase and download The Awakening. Dragon Age II is due to release soon. Too many games I would want to play. Fables III is available, yet to collect from Clifton. And I suddenly find myself a fan of Lego games - mainly is because I get to switch between various characters and each has their specialty. Plus I find Lego games are very cute, you get to smash everything (well, almost) up and also build really cute stuffs!

Here's my list of games to buy and play!

1. Lego Harry Potter
2. Medal of Honor Tier 1 Edition
3. Fables III
4. Dragon Age 2
5. Mafia 2 (which reminds me.. I have not completed my Godfather II.)
6. Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock

Apart from spending money of these games, I still have to attend weddings of close friends. Spent around $800 on my Halo collections (which was worth it!), I daresay that I am totally flat broke this year. It'll be cool if I get to work in those gaming companies so that I can play them for FREE!! WOOHOOOO!! Haha. Happy dreaming.

Oh! And lastly, Kinect is also expected to be launch this year. (T.T) I'm so broke now! Can't wait for Kinect and I have high expectations for it, after hearing some good reviews about Kinect. I do hope that it'll fare way past my expectations and also better than Wii. Wii is good but the controller do lag at times, which can be quite frustrating.

Christmas is coming~! *Hint hint*

Friday, October 01, 2010

I'd decided to continue where I'd left off in Dragon Age: Origins. I know I know... Awakening is out already as well as some other expansions. Gears of Wars III is due April 2011, Fables III is due this year, as well as some other fantastic games. So, when I started picking up my controller and tried refreshing the skills, buttons and such mentally while waiting for the game to load. A little worried that I may totally forgot how to kill the mobs and such.

All my worries were forgotten when the game starts. Somehow, DA was smart enough to know that I'd not been playing the game and popped out the needed tutorials to refresh my memories. WOW! I was so impressed! I mean, of all games I'd played, DA was the first and only to offer such needed asssistance! xD

Then, next mission, to get Alistair to LOVE my character again. After checking out other characters (for achievement sake!), he was mad at me and do NOT want to have anything to do with me again!! T.T
I'm so terribly heartbroken! I can't win him back, I can't be queen and Alistair is going to die!! Oh well, at least I still have the flirting elvaan.

I can't shake this motto off my mind.

In war, victory. In peace, vigilance. In death, sacrifice - Grey Warden's motto

And, I was hit with the realization why I stopped playing Halo Reach eventhough I'd been waiting for the game to be launch for like, months! I knew everyone died except for me... But I just can't accept that truth! The reality sucks!!!!! People asked why am I so attached to the game when it's just a game only. I love the storyline, the game play and I feel for the only surviving spartan, who lost his brothers and sisters, the land he called home and having to fight the covenants alone. It's just too painful! So when the ODST jumped to earth to find out what happened, you can really "feel" what Master Chief aka John went through. So ya, after playing awhile with Clifton, I packed the game into my shelf and kept it there for the time being. Until I am ready to face the harsh reality, otherwise.. It'll be staying there for a really long time. I love all my spartans and I want them around me. The starting part where I fought with the other spartans was overwhelming, it felt too good! It's too sad. Why does Bungie has to make it so? WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!
*Pulled an imaginary bungie developer and shook him while asking WHY?!?!?!? WHY SPARE ONE SPARTAN ONLY?!?!?!* I still can't believe it. No..... no.. +Shook my head sadly+

It's not just a game! NO! *okay, I am starting to sound like a crazy girl*

And no thanks to Clifton, who passed me some catalogues his friends got from TGS 2010. I realised how much I'd missed out on, especially on Square Enix products. I'd featured them in my fb. WHY didn't I save up money for TGS2010?!?!?!?!? I'm so full of regrets. Argh. Maybe I should stop gaming. Totally. No more games.

Ya right. =.="

To share this video. Thank to Master Lil for sharing. :D
Missed FFXI alot.. and Master Lil as my live GPS. heh.

Nursing cough, block nose and a headache that has been bugging me since this noon. Ugh. Time to rest early.
Woke up this morning and saw Hippo trying to support the big cushion with his nose tip. Maybe he thought the cushion was going to drop on him...

Anyway, helped mom to wash the veggies and found it to be a very boring and tedious job. Washed 2 packets and I was just imagining what my mom has to go through everyday when she cooks for the family especially so when I was cutting the corn, it was tough. Not only you have to wash EVERY single leaves in 1 stem, you got to check that there's no eggs, remove the leave if there's alot of holes and if it's turning yellowish.

Thought I'd try taking an artistic photo of the flower using my compact camera.
Mom was like "this is nice".
Me: Yea, this is the nice flower that we are all going to eat later.

So, after lunch, I went on cleaning the house and started packing my room.. Actually it's more of my snail pals letters. Pack, clean, and also switched the xbox360 place with the PS3 because my small fan was spoilt, or somehow the part-time helper did not place the blade properly and it could not move when switched on. And as I have never attached the wireless connector onto the xbox before save the USB, so I was quite impressed with myself when I figured it out and it looked pretty cool with the xbox. :D
I didn't know there was another USB port at the back till today. :P

Somehow the Xbox reminded me of the da ge da handphone with its antenna at the back. Lol.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Okay... 31st August 2010 and 14 September 2010 have been very meaningful to me.

I was invited to a Halo Fan's event in August and it was really some experience. I'm a shy girl by nature (Don't laugh!) and to be surrounded by 29 other boys (yes, I'm the only girl there and I think majority of them are at least younger than me by one cycle), I kept my mouth clam shut. I did get to chat with this guy. So, we get to meet up with the Bungie Developers, Chris Opdahl and David Allen. Seriously man, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! I do hope to get to ask them questions which were bugging me but the time frame was too short. After a preview of Halo:Reach opening and running the spartan around in the game, we get to have a photo session with them and also to try out the game too! I was unable to post the photo which I'd took with them as well as with the Master Chief because of the stupid iphone 4. It was really difficult to sync with my computer as compared to my all-time favourite blackberry. I did not try the new game because I'd love to save the best for the last, to keep my anticipation for the launch and fully embrace it when it happens!

**Side track: iphone 4 is just my gaming phone whereas my bb is my phone**

You see, we get just an hour with them and the queue for photo taking was long enough, followed by them having to sign the posters for us fans. After which, there were some fans chatting with them, which I suddenly felt kinda self-concious because the questions that I'm going to ask will not be relevant to the new game. My game room is so going to be plaster with Halo Poster, figurine and more! I was even thinking of painting the Reach's picture on one side of the room!

I'm glad to have continue with my errands for that day though.. Like going to Centrepoint to collect my specs, pre-order my Halo Reach Console and bumping into Joy there. She's super cool and pretty and I was really happy to see her there! xD
Meeting up with Clifton as well. A day well spent!

==========================================================

14 September 2010

I'd check out Xbox post on Halo and saw that some will queue as early as 8am! I didn't think it was that bad initially, I mean, this is Singapore and what can be worse than queuing up for rides at Tokyo Disneyland?

Clifton told me that the queue was really long and wasn't moving much. I wasn't really panicking and took my time to reach Funan Mall. When I reached there, I was like "WOW!!". Perhaps queuing for rides at Tokyo Disneyland had trained me enough that I wasn't really pissed and also expect the queue to snake around. Total time spent on queuing was closed to two hours! By the time we were queuing in Funan Mall, we were entertained by the emcee and contestants on stage. I tell you, the stage's background was "fantastic!". Again, I wasn't able to post it here because it was in my iphone. Gotta check out my fb in order to see it.

I tell you, all that wait was really worth it! The black box (tempts me to play Halo Wars again) was really cool! It wasn't just a plain ol' black box but was plastered with "Property of UNSC", those barcodes and all. It doesn't matter that it's all marketing gimmicks because it was done up really well and made the spending all worthwhile!

The Front

The side

This was found on the outside

And when you open the top portion, you'll see this yet again! Cool!!

Inside

Even the stylofoam was emboss with this

Slide out the small box, you'll see the game!

Greeting you was the top secret notice upon removing the game.

And this! See, even the sticker has the UNSC logo! Not only that, not some cheap simple plastic but those thick "piak piak" plastic containing... you guess!

Diary of Dr. Catherine Halsey!! Plus her employee pass, and other documents. What I love about her diary was the scribbing and little random drawings. Although I know she do not exist in the real world but the person who did these was really creative!

Very ser bu de remove the plastic because I intend to save it for my game room, where I'll have a glass cabinet and place all these treasures inside. xD
So you just gotta make do with this.

Even down to the fine details - their big guns

Next... my Halo Reach Console. Also very ser bu de to remove the console, so I'm still using the big one. Ey, got gan qing one hor. Super ser bu de lor. Sigh.

Last but not the least, just for Master Lil only. My mini collection of Halo. I'm going to buy the OST but not this year. Spent enough liao. Lol.

This time, I'm not going to chiong all the way just to quickly finish the game for the storyline but will play at my own leisure so that I'll not suffer any withdraw.

PS: There were TWO spartans on the launch day, but I'd missed the opportunity to take photo with them because I didn't see them!! :(

I'd been looking for this song "Mad World" for quite a while and as I didn't know the song title, hence I'd reached a deadend then.. Till one of my admin boy played this song on youtube. YES!

As the version he'd opened was sung by Adam Lambert and I know that I have to search for the original singer. Result was quite... unexpected. It was sung by Tears for Fears!!! There, I found out they sang "Everyone wants to Rule the World"!

Anyway, back on track.... I found where Mad Originated from in Wiki and I gotten something more! "Mad World" was the background music in Gears of War trailer! How cool is that?!

Sit back and enjoy.. The trailer of GOW w/ Mad World and Adam Lambert's version of Mad World. I simply adore that song. xD

Tears for Fears ROCKS!!!!!
I'd just realised that ALL my photos (save for 2010) were totally GONE!!! Damn!!! I'd unwittingly transferred them all to my external HDD (which I thought was my trusty ol' friend) all because of wanting a friend to pass me an anime series which my thumbdrive was unable to fit in all. I should have made an extra copy elsewhere (burn it into a disk or something). Very heartpain ah!

I know this is going to be a very stupid question I'm going to ask but.. is there ANY way of retreiving information from a crashed HDD? Seriously speaking, I have absolutely no idea how my external HDD will creash on my friend's computer when it was working perfectly fine on mine. Ugh!!!! Now there only old photos I have are going to be those edited pictures dating back to 2007 only!!! I just want to cry in anguish!

By the way, Master Lil, sorry to keep you waiting with my latest collections but... I'd placed an order for the Halo Limited Edition Console which I'll be collecting on next Tuesday along with my Halo Reach Legendary Limited Edition pack! So...... CHOTTO MATTE KUDASAI!!!! m(_._)m

In the meanwhile, you can check out my fb!!! I posted some there. heh.

Going off to nurse my very pain heartache...

Monday, August 23, 2010

Okayyyy, I'd did something that I have not done before! That is taking part in a Halo Fan's competition! Partly was thanks to Clifton for urging me to just try and also reminding me of the end date.

So, I'd took a picture of my collections, it looked very "small" as compared to those who had been collecting for years! Imagine when Halo started.. on Xbox - the big black box. And my 30 words.. not very creative but I ought to give Halo: ODST some credit because it was through ODS that I started on this Halo journey.

Wish me luck! Praying that I'll win! It's going to be some experience!

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Today, or rather, yesterday was the day that I'd been waiting for!

Clutching my receipt, I noticed this sentence "collect your redemption card after 20 August 2010". So I decided to call in to double check whether I can collect it today or after today and yes!! I CAN collect it TODAY! WOOHOOOO!! You can imagine me grinning all the way and checking my wallet to make sure the receipt is with me, placed securely in my wallet and also taking extra care to make sure my wallet is still in my bag. xD

I rode up the escalator with a silly grin stuck on my face and my eyes went as big as a pair of saucers when I was greeted with a HALO Shrine!!!! Although it's a small area of Halo's exhibits but it's enough to make one go ga-ga over it. There were 4 standing displays on the front. Starting from the right was the Halo Reach Limited Edition controller *Believe me when I said that I was very tempted to make the controller go missing*, followed by the Halo Figurine you'll get from the Legendary Limited Edition package, Spartan's helmet *salivating over it* and an impressive array of Spartans and Covenants. With Four Spartans guarding both sides of the Halo Shrine made it even harder to be missed. A TV was mounted at the back playing video - I'm sorry but I did not notice what the TV was playing because the display glass beside containing mini figurines, Halo Legends DVD and Halo Helljumper hardcover comic book by Marvel were simply too distracting. How I wish it was MY collection that I was looking at. However, thanks to the exhibits, I went out to source for the DVD and comic today. Mission was a mixture of success and failure as I was rewarded with the DVD found in a cd shop in Funan and I couldn't find the comic book in the bookstores from Raffles City to Plaza Singapura!

Anyway, I headed on to section 12 - that's where you redeem your card. My initial thought was the redemption card should be a credit card size. I was totally wrong and was awestruck by the real deal. It's half the size of an A4 paper with gloss finish and Spartans covering the front!!! I was totally speechless but managed to recover in time to stop the guy from stapling the receipt to the card. *Phew* It was too beautiful to be disfigured!

Did I mention that section 12 is a gaming area with plenty of xbox 360 games? OH! And before I forget, there's this super big wallpaper of HALO at the back of the xbox section. How I wish I could have that in my future gaming room. There's one glass showcase with the blackbox (if you play Halo Wars, you'll know what that is). Again, my jaws dropped because I thought it was just a small box, and I didn't realised that it's such a big box! Hey hey! I'm not complaining ok and I left the place with a silly grin plastered all over my face. I was so tempted to shout "WOOHOO!!!!!!”, jump about and do that silly dance. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!! I can't believe that I have the card in my hands! While checking out this small area filled with xbox 360 controllers and batteries, something down in the corner caught my eye - Halo ODST cover for xbox 360 consoles! You guessed it! I'm a proud owner of that cover, Halo Legends DVD and coming-soon blackbox. Suddenly, I became very protective of my redemption card, checking my carrier to make sure the card is still there with every step I take.

Now, I'm contemplating whether should I queue up early on the 14th September for the signed copy Halo poster or should I give it a miss.

And also task with guarding my receipt and redemption card because you can't get your order should you lose one of them! >.<

Maybe Impossible to get: Halo Helljumper Hardcover comics, Spartan Helmet, Spartan armor and mini figurines! Not forgetting the Energy Sword!

On a side note, it'll also be cool to have Gears of War's Lancer Assault Rifle. Zannnnnnn!!!!!!! Slash the Locust in to pieces!

Halo Redemption Card - Front

Halo Redemption Card - Back

ODST xbox cover

Halo Legends DVD

Met up with Clifton and he brought me to this French restaurant for dinner. Thanks baby! It was really cool to see him speak french and also to try something different yet yummy. Now I know I can tahan some French Food. It was not only a very filling dinner but a very expensive one too! It is a pity I used the iPhone to take pictures of the place because... I have yet to figure out how to do data transfer. Sigh..

Before I forget, I saw this young girl playing Hard on Guitar Hero! WOW!!! m(_._)m

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

So pissed off! Can I say F**K YOU?????

Monday, August 16, 2010

Gah! I can't contain myself any longer!!

I've GOT THE HALO REACH LEGENDARY LIMITED EDITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*jump scream dance !!!!!*

Okay, its the pre-order, I do not have the actual set yet but! It means I'd secured a set, which I'll have to go down this Fri to collect my card and wait VERY patiently for 14 Sept to get it! Omg omg omg omg!!!!!!! How I wish it is bundle with Spartan-117's suit and helmet!

Next I shall conquer the limited edition console! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

How I wish I can repeat the jump shout dance again but I'm in the bus and I'm grinning madly to myself!

So, Bungie is going to Activision, what's going to happen to Halo? Will there be a Halo 4 or something? Will there be a continuation of Halo?

I'd just completed Halo Wars (thanks to Clifton who urge me to try myself) and Halo 3 (sigh, I played easy mode so my ending was pretty "easy" too....). That seemed to be the end of Halo where John-117 was separated and its unknown whether is he still alive or not... The threat (covenant and flood) is still very much there, what ever happened to the forerunners, nobody seemed to have an answer to that. If they start another round of war, its going to be like a repetition of the original Halo (when covenant and flood made their presence known ). To continue the story seemed ... Not advisable since they'd left a lot unknown and such. But! There was this war going on within humanity, the rebels and unsc. Will they do a story for that?

Sigh, how I wish the spartans don't have to die. Why only 1 spartan left???? WHY???

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Couting down... ONE month to launch of limited edition Xbox 360 Halo Reach bundle!!!!!! So can't wait and also quite ser bu de the pampered box I'm using now.

Saturday, August 07, 2010

A conversation between mom and I came about when I received a message from a snail pal online that she did not receive my letter which I'd mailed out since the 15th of July.

Me: My pen-pal said that she did not receive my letter but I'd mailed it out since last month!
Mom: Did you paste the "by airmail" sticker?
Me: Nope because I'd run out of them but I wrote "BY AIRMAIL" on it. It has not failed me for the past few years....

Me: OH NO! Or the postman had missed that and put it "by SEA"?
Mom: Maybe..
Me: How long does it take to reach Germany by sea? I know it takes just a week to reach Germany by air.
Mom: By sea? One month!
Me: =.="

See, the difference between by sea and by air?? Sigh.......

Anyway I'd woke up specially early (9am) to go to the market with mom today. Mom was still asleep so I just read my outdated newspapers while waiting for her to wake up.

Today, I made WANTON aka Chinese Dumplings! :D
Yes, I washed and chopped the water chestnuts myself while mom seasoned the meat then I filled the "skin" with meat. Yums! Mom let me tried one sample to make sure the meat was "sweet" enough.

There were more but mom had took some to cook. Today was really healthy eating as our wantons were boiled and not fried. So it's wanton with soup, boiled veggies and rice.

On a random note..... Mom took my dog to wash because he's too dirty. She dried it and then placed it on top of my pig. They looked really cute and then I realised that pig was flanked by rabbid and Keroro on either sides. Then Cactuar and Hippo were telling me to take a group photo of them all together. So here it goes. :D

Only Cactuar and Hippo are sleeping on my bed because they have their personal pillows - Shrek and Xbox 360 controller.

And the keeper of my precious books.

Did I mention that Master Lil's green chocobo is still in my cupboard, wrapped in a red plastic bag? I'll take a mugshot of them another time. Ha!

Oh and Douzo Arigatou for being so patient with me and helping me with my erm.. "sms" self study. :P

Thursday, July 29, 2010

I'd managed to finish reading 'Halo Encyclopedia' and I'm currently reading 'Halo: Fall of Reach' and my conclusion of Halo is that it is a very sad story. Not those romance sad story but sad story about humanity and the Spartans. The Spartans were supposedly enhanced super super soldier and yet, why did they die so easily like flies?

While they were in their MJOLNIR Mark VI Armor (frankly speaking, from the way they describe the armor John-117 was wearing, it should be that latest armor when they first had contact with the covenant), they were almost invincible. How was it that the covenants were so far advanced than the humans? So, the forerunner race was the most advanced followed by the covenant and then the humans? That's sad right? Even when the forerunner was so advance and yet, they did not have any contingency plan. How did the covenant get so advanced? Why so little spartans then? What about ODST? They were also one of the elites no?

From seventy plus spartans to half and then to just one Master Chief. Before reading the novel, I was always wondering why was John called the Master Chief and the rest are just spartans. So, it all boils down to just Master Chief, Cortana and the arbiter. Sigh. I still remembered the words Master Chief said to Cortana, after they (together with the arbiter) left in a ship, which was later shot and broke into half, Master Chief's whereabouts was unknown. And it was said that Master Chief was thought to be in some unknown place, where he was placed in a cryo-sleep by Cortana, telling her to wake him up when he's needed. So, was there a possiblity that he'll appear again to save humankind? Is he dead or just somewhere out there resting?

Spartans cannot die, they are either MIA, WIA but never KIA. So, what happened to John? Will Halo 4 even happen? Now I'm so waiting impatiently for Halo: Fall of Reach! Argh!

Halo Encyclopedia - Nearly can't find it!

Anyway, my pig was too fat already and was unable to take in anymore "food". So, I gotta start making him "puke". Mom was marvelling at how much I'd managed to feed him and made a guess that pig should weigh at least "660 bucks".

Me: ok, if you guessed close to the weigh, I'll give you $100.
Mom: OK! *quickly sat down and helped me count*

Pig before (he was damn heavy and I gotta rest at least 2 times ok!!)

Pig after.. So, he weighs 900 bucks. Actually he was 897 and mom contributed 3 bucks to make it 900.

Mom: Wasted, another 100 and it'll be a thousand!

Now pig felt so light! Time to feed him again!

Super excited because mom and I went to Chinatown today to buy some cloth for making curtains, sofa covers and my big pillows' clothes. Spent like $150 on cloths (cheap ok!), buttons and threads. Omg! Actually majority was spent on the cloths. Scary but at least my faithful curtain (in my room) can go for a wash! And my big pillows have extra set of clothes to wear!! xD

IMG00150-20100727-1538.jpg

Yay!!! My mom made new clothes for my big pillows!!! Their current one is kind of.... dusty *coughs*. So happy.. Thanks mommy!!!!

Thank you Matty for coming over to play with me today!

Baird in Gears of War II said something really funny, after slicing through the worm's stomach. He said "I'm coughing out blood that is not mine!". LOL!!

And I'm still sad that Calmine had to die, especially in that way. =(
It reminded me of Aerith's death in Final Fantasy VII. >.<

I can't wait for Gears of War III!!!!!! Hate Berserker and it had MORE arms this time round!! Sheesh!!

BUT, I'm even more so excited with Xbox 360's HALO bundle! *going colourful like Me & My Katamari*

I realised that I'm a half bucket water. That's the direct translation of "ban tong shui". Which means I never get things done completely, but I'd prefer the term "Jack of all Trades". Lol.

I'd tried piano and stopped when I was taking my PSLE.

Then I tried Tae Kwan Do from white belt and took my first test, which I'd managed to skip 2 levels and got to get this Green sticker at the tip of the belt. So I had to practice 2 levels of order. I couldn't cope with it then and it was getting kind of boring for me, hence I dropped out before getting my green belt. Reason I used to quit - N or O levels. I can't remember.

Next my games, I'd usually played games (especially RPGs) until I'd reached like 80% of the game before I shift my attention to the next games. Even so when new games launch around the same time. :/

Finally, my Japanese. Took it until intermediate (i think), went for JLPT4, flunk it and stopped once I got a new job. Stopped it for 4 years and I'm now trying to self study my JP with the help of Master Lil. m(_._)m

How's my run today? I must say, the route was more of a U-turn route as compared to JP Morgan run or StandChart run. Definitely not going to run for it again. But I'd fun with my 2 running companions. :D
Does earning more money than you used to, much more that it changes your lifestyle, changes people? Changes people in a way that they are like a stranger to you. That you can no longer chat about other topics except for work related even when you do not feel like discussing?

Tomorrow is my 10km run, did not get to train for it. To my dear body, please be prepared to ache like hell tomorrow.

I'd decided to post in blog at least once a week. It doesn't matter whether does it concern my daily issues or it can be some news or articles. I'm just trying to keep a commitment to my blog, so that it'll not stay old and mouldy and quiet, to keep stupid lizards, cockraches and dusts away. Actually, I got this idea when I was packing up my newly bought books into my shelf - it was left on the floor for months.. think: I bought the books before I left for Japan, so you can imagine how long has it been lying on the floor. And I was reminded of Sex and the City. Haha. Although Carrie has a column and mine is a blog which is more for my own amusement, but it still feels the same. To me.

Books packed, room looks spacious now. Next, I had a sudden urge to bring out my Japanese textbooks to practice. It had been four years since I'd last studied my Japanese, judging from the dates I'd wrote on the exercise sheets. Some of them even looked alien to me! Okay, not alien but I just can't remember what were they used for. There were different groups, and to change their form based on their groups, when to use them and when not to. I guess I'll just practice my oral and try to translate the sentences for now.

I was feeling kind of down yesterday because Darker than Black had reached it's last episode. Which means I'll be seeing Hei no more. I like the fact that he can look so innocent when he wasn't on a mission, and yet so cold when he was on one. His emotionless experssion, the way he swings with his wire, how he kills the enemies with surprise and his bullet-proof trenchcoat!

See how cool he looked with his trenchcoat and his blur look with his everyday clothes.

With his mask on.

He reminded me of Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji. Who wouldn't want to have a multi-talent butler like him? Especially when he said "Yes, master". *Faints*

Found this really cool console that made me held my breathe and eyes went WIDE!

Boy am I glad that I did not rush down to buy Xbox 360 slim. I'm definitely going to wait for this set to be out in September and get it! I'm sorry, old xbox console but the new one is way cooler than you now. What's cooler? When I get my hands on Master Chief's helmet. He's so cool! Thanks to Clifton who got me the series for Halo 3, ODST and Halo Wars. I know I'm a late bloomer but.. but.... So, I'm playing Halo 3 now and the more I play Halo, the more I'm in awe of Master Chief.

Haha, this post seemed to be all about cool guys. Yums!!

Can't wait for my gaming room to be up so that I can source for Halo poster and place him everywhere in my room, all nicely framed up. heh.

Anyway, sticking to my resolution to publish a post on one of my off day a week as well as trying to take bus/train to and fro from work instead of cab!

Tokyo Game Show 2010, I'll have to skip this year's and plan for TGS 2011. =(

Just dropping a note to say that this blog is not dead yet! Just that the owner is too busy to sit her ass down, edit photos and upload them with captions. This month is quite happening, too many events and my offdays are filled with plans and things to do.

For weeks, I'd been contemplating whether should I just quit my job and find a new one or should I stay with my current job while searching for a new one. Of course the latter sounds silly and is 100% not advisable, especially with the current market, it is not easy to find a job now.

I actually knew what I want to do when I was sick for two weeks during June. However even giant gaming companies in Singapore are still on the retrenchment roll, and Singapore's gaming scene is pretty small. It is starting to made me wonder whether is it a good idea to work in a gaming company afterall?

Well, photos? Too many in folders and are starting to get outdated plus I'd forgotten where I'd left off. Shall take the time to edit and post them up. First off, let me continue editing my resume. It's been far too long since I'd last touched it. My brain cells is been squeeze and I'd been trying to find inspiration to prepare my resume. Of course, you may wonder, what's the big deal about preparing a resume. A resume is a resume right? I just want to make sure my resume is up to date and all.

So, is anyone hiring?

Yep! Another 2hours till my birthday is officially over. SO, question is, what did I do today? I worked! Apparently the requested leave got messed up so I was planned to work for the whole day.. What a day to start as it was raining heavily (such good weather to sleep in!), still sick (with cough and a nose that runs like a loose tap) and to work the whole day... I was lucky that I'd managed to change my shift to end early (YAY!) and my mentor was sweet enough to buy a birthday cake for me. A mini celebration with a few colleagues and some birthday messages from friends, unexpected wishes from friends whom I'd not keep in touch with for some time. So, it's not really bad after all. :D

Didn't do anything special this year as I'm still sick with no mood to do any celebration.

On another note, sometimes I do wish that time will stop, that we'll stop ageing... For the past few days while I was resting at home, I happened to observe.. my mom. Lol. She just can't stop moving around and is always doing something. One moment she was sitting down, cutting fabrics, the other moment she'll be at the sewing machine, later she'll be in the kitchen, then the toilet, the window, back to cutting, cooking, etc. No stopping. Little wonder that she'll be tired by the end of the day.. When sometimes she'll retire for the night, as early as 10pm. She's constantly moving. And I admire her for that. For not being lazy. But, as she walk or sit or even bend down to pick up something, it is not hard to notice that age has caught up with her. I began to calculate her age mentally and suddenly, I just wish that time will stop. I'd like to be beside her always. I know that I'm getting comfortable with life around my mom, but it feels better to know what is happening to her. I'd rather not have any regrets, and to continue observing my mom and her daily life. :)

She, who can't stop moving. My mom, who send SHORT-message texts, who Laugh-Out-Loud suddenly, who watch Family Guy, The Simpsons, Sex and The City with me.

Am in the clinic now... Yes.. My cough and sore throat are still bugging me. Cough, I'd say, had kept me up till late... So late that I'd only 2 to 3 hours of sleep till I wake up for work.

Anyway, back to me being in the clinic. Now. Most clinics had changed their "calling" system to electronic numbers. Think: electronic queue systems you'll find especially in telco stores.

I quite missed the old days where the nurse will call out your name and then you'll proceed in to see the doctor, of course not before knocking the door first. To me, its a form of courtesy to say "I'm coming in". It'll be rather rude to just walk in eventhough the doctor had "called" your number.

There will comes a time when you have to go through this:-

Sitting in a cab with very bad lingering odour that seems to be a mixture of urine and body odour (perhaps?) with an occasional fart and the driver driving sssssssslowly. Not only that, you are travelling from east to orchard, caught in a heavy traffic.

I just try not to talk (for fear of the smell entering me with its army of germs), take very light breath, pray that we'll reach our destination real soon and the smell do not attach itself on our clothes!!

Sometimes I do feel that I am a very evil person.

I'd just saw a side to someone whom I thought of as one who do not give a thought to how other's feel. Instead, I saw him giving up his seat immediately to a pregnant lady, to separate the card so to convenience others, to a father who's holding his child. Yes, I am impressed by these actions.

He, someone who acted nonchalant to his surroundings but portray such kindness to others. He, a kiddo who is different from those spoilt brats seen outside. Thumbs up to the little kid, who doesn't act his age. :)

Maybe I ought to post a quick blog, since its just us, two girls travelling in Japan for 14days. :)

Tried out new places, new hotels and it's fun although there's the language barrier. Hope to improve my Japanese next time round before I visit Japan again to better communicate with them.

Girls here are still slim that I felt big size as compared to them, guys are still as good looking and trendy as ever.

Okays, will update more with pictures. Hoping to post up a decent blog on Japan this time round. :)

Pretty eventful day today although we started going out late again.. lol.

Wendy was cute enough to wait for me at Raffles City Shopping Centre when we were supposed to meet at Raffles Place.. haha. We managed to change our moolah to Japanese Yen and get our JR pass done. Not much difference in prices so its cool! :D

After which, we just walk and shop and viola! We are in Borders and I suddenly remembered what I needed to buy. Bought and it wasn't the whole series and we went over to Kinokuniya to complete my series.. hee. Spent a total of $400 (yes i know abut its an annual thingy you see...) on these!!! SO HAPPY ESPECIALLY WHEN I FOUND THE ENCYCLOPEDIA! WOOHOO!!!

My full set of Halo series plus encyclopedia! So cant wait to tear open the plastic and slowly devour the beautiful book! And time to start reading the story of Halo. I salute to the person who thought of the Halo storyline and universe.

Gears of Wars caught my eye too and I can't help it but to pick it up.. Since it's my favourite game and I'd played through GoW 1 & 2 and knowing its storyline..

And yes I agree with the author of "The Art of Video Game". Video Game is art too! Look at the drawings! The landscape, the figures, the details!

Abit heartpain when I found this (top right corner)..... ouch.

Who said its not money well spent?

Okies, had managed to edit some photos taken last month... Will post up again when I'm free. Its 0042hr and I gotta get up like 0745hr due to some meeting... Tired.. Good night!!

Counting down.. 12days to Japan!!

Just received a very funny text from Master Lil, just wish I'm working today so that it'll boost my energy level up!!

Sorry Master Lil, lol. I was imagining the scenario in my head and .... I went lol-ing again. :P

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

I was quite taken back to see an auntie (confirm older than my mom I believe) driving bus 22 when I was boarding the bus. Wow!! RESPECT!

And here I was judging her driving skills, lol. A BUS leh!!! DOUBLE DECKER ok!!

Maybe its just me. I seriously find it rude when you were conversing with someone and they can just stop replying your last message.

Fallen asleep?
Shouldn't you reply in the morning with an apology like "I'd fell asleep...... And didn't reply/hence the late reply....... Good morning by the way"
That's what they were being taught no? Where are their manners? You'll greet your family members/roomies/housemates/whoever you see in the morning right? Unless you are staying alone.

Busy at work till forgot to reply?
I don't mind if they reply after work, a day after (because too busy till forgot about it).

AT LEAST YOU'LL REPLY!

Or if you are going to sleep and can't continue the conversation, just say! Does it hurt or kill you to say that?

If you are watching a show, don't say its alright to continue the conversation, because its NOT ALRIGHT!

Dajie said Cactuar and Mini Hippo are 面壁思过, receiving punishment from me. Lol.

Remember me mentioning about my cravings for junk food? Yes! I'd finally gotten my fix! Had stuffed myself with Long John Silver, Yoshinoya, MacDonald's Chicken Burger Meal (oooo, the fries tasted so delicious!!), Fillet-O-Fish Meal and their breakfast meal!! HAPPY!!

I'm still coughing anyway.. It's a mild one. And my flu was gone when I drown Clarinese (whatever its spelt as) thanks to a super sweet and cute girl!! XD

Yessss, I also felt my stomach getting bigger, the fatty feeling is back, BUT I'm gonna hit the gym!!

Hello Blog! *cough cough sneeze sneeze*

Wow, it must have been some time since I last do an update?

Anyway, there's nothing interesting in my life except that I'd bumped into my secondary school friend whom I've not met for at least 10years. Other than that, it'll be work that's keeping me away from the world. Worked till 3am last Sunday, horrible crowd and my day was not too smooth.

Managed to meet up with my Japan mate (that's what she named it), Wendy yesterday to check out the JR Pass fares. We did some comparison and I'll compare it again on Thursday. I seriously pray hard that Yen will weaken. :P
Time to do up our itinerary and plan which hotels to stay in. Still within our budget, if there's not much changes in the currency rate. *crosses fingers*
We are looking very very forward to this trip!!!

It's only been 3 days since mom flew to HK and I'm beginning to feel a little uneasy at home. It is like there's something missing. I kinda missed my mom now. Although her nagging sometimes make my ears shutdown. :P

So here I am thinking, why do some people want to move out and live alone? Yes, you get a taste of independence but I guess I still prefer being pampered by my mom while possible.. :)

It is good having her around, especially after my two sisters move out, it'll feel even more weird.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Woah!! Just felt the need to blog because....... I'm using a MAC for the first time! Yes! No, I did not buy one mac book. It belongs to my brother-in-law. muawahhaha. Okay, I only used it to search for a Sunday clinic and to blog. :P
Keyboard is pretty similar to a normal laptop just that it felt slightly different? The keys are smoother? As in the keyboard's surface and it has lesser icons on the buttons itself. Like finding "Home", "Page Up/Down", etc. So if I wish to delete the whole sentence, I'll go "Pressing delete till the desired word" because I do not know how to do "Shift Home" on this macbook. Ah, my heart still belongs to PC (this mac is so gonna hate me) because of the many thing I can do with it.

This is going to be short post because I'm still not feeling well. In fact, worse. Flu came on suddenly last night and I had to endure a long day of work today (many people took sick leave and I thought I just work through since I'm not facing the customers today. Well, I talked lesser today). So now is sniff sniff, cough cough, sniff sniff..

Take care everyone who's reading this post. Drink more water and don't fall sick like I do. :(
You will miss out on all the good things in life.

I'm eating so healthy that your jaw will just drop to the ground if you know me well enough. No/extremely little meat, no fried/oily food, no soda drinks.

I'm craving for (apart from the food that I'd listed out in my previous post).

- Fried Hokkien Mee
- Char Kway Tiao
- Fried Carrot Cake (black)
- Prawn noodles
- Deep fried chicken wings (oooo, all my colleagues are eating that and it's making my mouth water and I'd to practice EXTREMELY HIGH LEVEL of self restraint from running out and buy and munch on it!!)
- My potato chips!
- ALL SODA DRINKS!!

Hmmm.. I'd better stop now as I'm starting to feel hungry from listing out the food that I'd missed out on for the past 2weeks. >.

My mei's going to ROM end of this year!! Although I knew they were planning it for some time but it didn't occur to me that it's going to take place that.. soon (in italics since this phone do not allow me to do any coding with it).

With dajie's new house on the way, there's a chance that both of them may move out by the end of this year! Some combo eh?

I'm somewhat stuck between excited and sad? With that 舍不得feeling. Come on, we'd been living under one roof for all my 28years and now it'll be just my mom and I. So the house will be quieter (I can have sleep overs!). Unless my sisters start producing something for my mom to take care of. And for me to play with! Haha.

Excited? Hell yes!! I'll have a room for my gaming purpose!! No more racking my brains on how to shift my furnitures about just to get more space for my tv, study table, blah.

Saturday, March 06, 2010

Sigh.. Also just realised that my leave request may not be approve as there's a lot of people placing their requests earlier and are around the same period as me!!

It made me feel that Wendy and I are not fated to travel together or some sort. Supposed to be April which got pushed to May. And now.. I was hoping to avoid Summer time as it'll be pretty hot and that'll be like being back here in Singapore. I missed the strong winds there, the chill and the coolness. However if worse comes to worse, late May to early June shall be it. :(

I do hope that our trip will goes well.. Japan!!! I missed Japan so much!!

Here I am craving to eat MacDonald's:

1. Chicken Nuggets
2. Chicken Burger
3. Big Mac
4. Fillet-O-Fish Burger
5. French Fries!!

And also craving for potato chips!!

My mom is here, eating my favourite chips right in front of me!!!! Omg!!! I cannot tahan anymore! I need my cravings!

But it is also this illness that made me eat lesser, healthier (practically no junk food!) and also most prolly caused me lose some weight. Heh.

I'm trying so hard not to look at the chips, not to see my mom eat the chips and not listening to the crunchy sound!!

I wonder.. Why some girls pick their friends? Especially friends of the opposite sex. It seems to me like, guys who drive matter most. I agree, guys with cars mean convenient but.. You can also have friends who do not own any cars right? Just have to make do with public transport, save the earth. Why the girls will have certain requirements, like guys who zip around in fancy cars, guys who drive sports cars, two-doors cars, must own at least a car.. Etc?

So, if I'm a guy with no car means the girl will not hang around me, not hang out with me just because I'm short of that.. That item?? Wtf?

Thought I should make use of this time to quickly edit and upload some of the photos taken during Chinese New Year and on Xiaobai's birthday.

1st Day

Taken with my baby niece. :D
She was pretty chubby and my arm couldn't last a mere 15mins while carrying her. :P

Jarius was sooooo cute!
Dajie & I: Jarius, do you know how to wear your own shoes?
Jarius: *Smiles cheekily at us and nods his head*
Dajie & I: Okies, wear your shoes then we'll go take photos ok?
And he began wearing his own shoes! OMG! It was so cute as he bent down to put on his little shoes.
So we asked him for a VICTORY pose once he's done.

2nd Day - Dua Kim's House

Well, it's kind of like a routine. We'll go to Uncle David's (lunch) and Uncle Boon Hao's (dinner) house for visiting. And to Dua Kim's house on the second day. I'm not sure the reason why but that was how it is. And on nearest holiday (depends, like this year, the third day happened to be a public holiday as the First day of CNY falls on Sunday), we'll have like lunch at Darren bro's house followed by Aunt Linda's for dinner. You can say that we meet up once a year.. or unless there's a special occasion, such as our grandparents' death anniversary fall on a weekend or someone's getting married, birthday party or baby shower.

Then on the "Ren Ri", we'll have dinner at a restaurant with relatives from my mom's side. :)

Yusheng. I'm not sure who came up with this idea of placing the paper plates around the yusheng but that's pretty clever because "mixing" of the yusheng is a pretty messy affair.

Shout out your deepest desires for 2010!!!

See how messy it is?

The hand that got caught in a messy situation.

Owner of the messy hand.

Yum yums!!

Not everyone was present during this photo taking but it was pretty tough trying to capture everyone in the picture! Perhaps time to invest in a SLR for wide angel? However I'd heard that most of the newer digital cameras have the wide angle function. Photography is such an expensive hobby. =.=

Cousins group!!

3rd Day

We'd decided to gather at Jiawei's house for potluck and it's such bad luck for me to have my Aunty visit. :(

Food which we'd prepared. I couldn't find the cheese though I'd search high and low for it at Cold Storage!!!!!!

A group photo and this time, Serene joined us. It's been such a long time since I'd last saw her and boy had she grown!

Jiawei bought this new game and introduced it to us.

Tough with limited choices to describe a word with restrictions!

Mr Cool.

As usual, Bel's drawing was horrible.. heh.

The guys managed to get season parking. hehe

Yummy chocolate cake!

After which, I took a cab down to Cheryl's house later at night. Sounds like there's a lot of food left. And being attended to by Joel, awww, I felt so pampered by my cousin. Gahah. I don't even have to lift my butt, just drop hints of what I'm missing and he'll go get it for me. Nyak nyak!

Trying out a new game called "Munchkins". Quite similar to "Magic" but graphics are cute and everyone was out to "kill" each other. Haha. Now we know who the scheming ones are.

I remembered Cheryl or Janice asking this question.

Cheryl/Janice: What is the difference between a race and a class?
Cedric: A race is like Chinese, Malay, Eurasian...
Joel: A class is like lawyers, doctors, etc..

Nice way of describing something game related. Lol.

Poor me, not only was I stuck at Level 2 but I gotten this card like thrice!!! I need someone to my rescue!!!!

Everyone was tired after a round of game.. that lasted for 3 hours!

Janice was finally the winner after trying to hit level 10 on her.. 4th try? Haha. Everyone had exhausted their cards. Somehow she was too tired to celebrate. haha.

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+

I realised that there's not much posting recently.. Perhaps it was because most of my thoughts came to me at night, while I was lying on my pillow? And I'll be too lazy to even lift my finger to type whatever is running in my mind.

Some updates..

I'd just gotten transferred to the Tampines Outlet and I kind of miss those days at OUB.. The fun times we had, those bonds which we'd created and shared, many suppers on Saturday nights since Sunday was a permanent off.. It was fun then and organising a chalet/group outing was easy.

Last weekend was our last chalet + gathering together and unfortunately, there were quite a few who could not make it. I must say, I was pretty disappointed as that was our last outing!

So, I made full use of our last outing and took as many photos as possible (will post it up another time). And did I mention that I was down with fever, sore throat and flu last Wednesday? So I reported to work on Monday, Tuesday, on sick leave for 2 days, back to work on Friday and off again on Saturday and Sunday. Sigh..

1st March, we'll have to report to our new outlet (everyone got scattered around) and those left at OUB was pretty upset that the old team was gone. Ah, I know everything will be fine once the new team settles down.

Here I am, on sick leave again as I realised that the customers can't stand my "manly" voice plus talking too much will just caused my sore throat to worsen. Doctor was quite surprised that my cough/sore throat was still there and prescribes me a "voice" medicine on top of the regular ones.

Time to go and rest as the cough syrup was making me extremely drowsy.. Oh, look at the time now!

I can't wait to do up a file of photos taken during my 1year and 5months stay at OUB.
